grad student service opportunity: tutoring
Mondays, 3:15-5:15 pm
Annunciation BVM Church
South Philly
There is a tutoring program for children from 1st through 4th grades on Mondays at Annunciation BVM Parish. The children are primarily Mexican immigrants who are just learning English, and consequently placed below grade level in local schools. The church needs more adults to work one-on-one or in small groups with the kids.
The regular after-school program will wrap up at the end of May. There will be three educational summer camps at the church with the same children in July. In the fall, they will resume the regular after-school program.
