Saturday-Sunday, February 25-26, 10:00 am (Saturday) - 6:30 pm (Sunday)

Newman Center

All Penn freshmen are invited to this two-day, one-overnight retreat, held at the Newman Center!  Connect with other freshmen and with Catholic upperclassmen, and learn more about Catholic life at Penn. Student leaders share their experience of balancing social life, faith, and academics while exploring the many opportunities for spiritual and faith formation available through Penn Newman. Connections brings together people in small groups for a weekly opportunity for socialization, prayer and discussion on how faith fits into our daily lives. 

Two different groups will be meeting for a six-week series:

* Tuesdays, 7:00 pm, starting Feb. 7: led by dental student Lisa Uberti

* Wednesdays, 7:00 pm, starting Feb. 8: led by Jeff Klein

After Newman Dinner, we're going to have a discussion about the viral videos "Why I Love Jesus, But Hate Religion" and the Catholic response "Why I Love Religion, and Love Jesus". GRAD STUDENT SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: uchc MEAL
Mondays, 5:30-7:00 pm
Sts. Agatha & James Church (38th & Chestnut)

The University City Hospitality Coalition provides a meal every day as part of its outreach to the poor and homeless.  Penn veterinary student Anna Smith is coordinating a group of grad students/young professionals to help prepare and serve the meal on Mondays at St. AJ's.  Email Anna at annasm@vet.upenn.edu to participate!

Penn Newman will be hosting our third annual Locks of Love event. Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that makes wigs for financially disadvantaged children experiencing hair loss due to any diagnosis. For more information or if you would like to sign up to donate six or more inches of your hair, please email locksoflove.newman@gmail.com with your name, telephone number, and email address.
