The Penn Newman Center participates in the mission of the universal Roman Catholic Church, which is found locally in West Philadelphia in the parish of St. Agatha – St. James.  Along with the parish family, the Church’s mission is extended through the parish itself, the Penn Newman Center and Drexel Newman Center.

The Penn Newman Center’s primary focus is to the Catholic community of the University of Pennsylvania.  Penn Newman engages students, faculty, staff and administration through the spiritual and human dimensions of Jesus Christ.  Specifically:

Spiritual Dimension:

  • Praise and worship
  • Prayer and spirituality
  • Catechetics

Human Dimension:

  • Leadership
  • Social
  • Pastoral Outreach

The Penn Newman Center has a great story to tell.  The primary challenge currently being addressed by the Penn Newman Center is how to better tell this story to a wider audience including:

  • Undergrad students
  • Graduate students
  • Faculty
  • Administration
  • Staff
  • Affiliates
  • Other Potentially interested persons
